The researchers also tell that this can work best for your mood and immunity as well. This is for the very first time when the researchers had studied about cacao which is a major source of flavonoids to know its effect on cognitive, endocrine and cardiovascular health.
Lee S Berk from the Loma Linda University in the US says “For years, we have looked at the influence of dark chocolate on neurological functions from the standpoint of sugar content – the more sugar, the happier we are”.
“This is the first time that we have looked at the impact of large amounts of cacao in doses as small as a regular-sized chocolate bar in humans over short or long periods of time, and are encouraged by the findings,” said Berk.
Berk who is the principal research and is working in the two new studies tells that higher amount of cacao in chocolate can turn positive for cognition, memory, mood, immunity and many other health effects as well. This research also tells that the flavonoids which are found in the cacao are rich in antioxidants and works as an inflammatory agent that found to be effective for brain and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
This research also finds that about 70 percent of cacao has positive effects on neuroplasticity for behavioural. It also comes up with many brain health benefits and hence reduce the stress level.
